Only a CHATEAU can do that..

When we moved to our new home in 2016, we as cat lovers naturally decided on two new feline flatmates. We shortly came across two British Shorthair kittens within a twinkle of the eye and they felt at home from the first day. In order to set up their very own play corner for the two of them, we first looked around for a suitable piece of scratching furniture. However, the search turned out to be more challenging than expected and at that point one thing was clear to us immediately - only a CHATEAU can do that.

As big as the selection of budget and functional cat furniture was, to place a eyesore in our stylish newly furnished living room was out of the question. As creative minds and enthusiastic hobby craftsmen, we got to work and designed our very own jewel for our feline housemates. The idea of using beautiful old wine boxes came to us one evening with a good bottle of red wine. The wooden boxes with their size were very well suited as couch baskets and functioned optically perfect with our simple furnishings and the rustic oak parquet. The prototype designed in this way was of course neither modular nor tested in its functionality. However, our two wild tigers gymnasted up and down for days and gave us direct feedback. We also received a lot of praise and interest from our guests. So we decided to further develop the idea and optimise the CHATEAU until it was ready for repeated production.

The right brand name for the product is of course a must! So we took the time to design the climbing tower with all its intricacies as well as the brand with a suitable logo from scratch. A connection to the winery should be created in any case, as well as the clear reference to the cat. We quickly agreed - CHATEAU8 - simple and ingenious at the same time! The "chateau" on the one hand creates the reference to elegant wine boxes and on the other hand contains the word "chat". The number 8 as a supplementary element gives the brand a little whimsical charm and also provides the basis for the unmistakable cat figure in the logo.

CHATEAU8 products incorporate a noble and timeless design. To achieve this, we rely uncompromisingly on the highest quality materials. The carefully crafted boxes are made of solid wood in rustic oak and give the product a high-quality and coherent appearance. The matching fabric covers are made of hard-wearing upholstery fabrics, made of foam materials, which are otherwise used in the manufacture of seating furniture. A further key philosophy of the brand is that all components are manufactured exclusively in Switzerland. With this overall concept, we have managed to combine our demands in terms of design, quality and sustainability in one product and are proud to present you our CHATEAU8 range!
